Expert Dermaplaning Treatment

Dermaplaning is a treatment using a medical scalpel that gently exfoliates the outer layer of dead skin cells and removes fine facial hair commonly known as “peach fuzz”, (technically called vellus hair). It can be used as an alternative to laser treatments, or combined with them for enhanced skin results.

This procedure will give your skin a more radiant appearance. Following treatment, makeup application is smoother and other skincare products are able to penetrate deeper into the skin, which in turn makes them more effective.

What are the Benefits of Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning reduces the appearance of shallow acne scars, fine lines and superficial hyperpigmentation. It also:

  • removes about 21 days worth of dead skin

  • increases absorption of topical products, moisturisers and serums

  • smoother surface and less application of make up and foundation

  • immediately diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

  • primes skin for chemical peel and Collagen Gold Facial Mask

  • creates a healthier and more radiant appearance

Frequently Asked Questions

Is dermaplaning the right treatment for me?

The ideal candidate for dermaplaning has ageing, dry, rough, or an uneven skin tone. Dermaplaning can also help reduce the appearance of shallow acne scars, fine lines and superficial hyperpigmentation. However, pop in for a client consultation and we can discuss your skin.

Is the treatment safe and does it hurt?

Our suitably trained therapists will ensure that your treatment is extremely safe. There is no more risk to the skin than when you shave your legs. With hair removal such as waxing and threading, most people have the idea that all hair removal is painful, but dermaplaning is entirely painless.

How long does the treatment take? How often can I have it done?

Dermaplaning takes anywhere between 30-45 minutes and can be performed every four to six weeks. The treatment itself removes approximately 21 days worth of dead skin so it is important to let your skin rejuvenate before your next appointment.

Will it make hair grow back thicker and darker?

No. There are different types of hair that grow on the body; vellus hair and terminal hair. Vellus hair is found on most areas of the body except palms, soles, lips and genital areas, whereas terminal hairs are found on the scalp, underarms and pubic region. The soft and fine vellus hair grows back at the same rate and texture.
