Give Your Eyebrows an Expert Henna Treatment

How fantastic would it be to wake up in the morning and have your eyebrows done and good to go, without needing to do anything?

Improving our brow game is a smart grooming strategy, especially when we’re going for a natural, off-duty look. With a henna eyebrow treatment, you can temporarily tint your eyebrows in a natural and painless way, giving the impression of a temporary tattoo.

Your eyebrows will be perfectly shaped and have strong colour, with little or no need for the application of pencils or powders. Not surprising, when you see the magical results that you can achieve with henna dye. Beautiful, deep and full eyebrows - as the henna stays on the skin for up to two weeks and on the eyebrow hairs for up to six or seven weeks.

What Are Henna Brows and What Treatment is Involved?

The process for henna eyebrows is very similar to colouring methods seen in traditional Indian culture. Henna brows are a form of eyebrow tint used to stain the skin beneath the brow hairs. Pigments are added giving the henna a range of colours from a beautiful light to a dark brown shade. This casts a shadow creating an illusion of depth and fullness to the eyebrow, visually filling in any areas that look sparse, or are stubbornly grey! Henna has been around since ancient Egyptian times when it was used for multiple purposes such as dyeing hair, clothes, fabrics and as make up. Henna is just as popular today as it was centuries ago, and is increasingly used by millions of women for colouring their eyebrows.

Henna is a safe and natural product which is gentle on the skin. It’s vegan friendly and free from peroxide activators and chemicals such as ammonia or lead, making it a suitable option for anyone with sensitive skin. With no side effects, henna can also be safely used on anyone who is allergic to hydrogen peroxide. So anyone concerned about colour getting on their skin can stop worrying, there’s no risk of irritation.

Henna treatments work better on clean skin, so by exfoliating the eyebrows in advance, dead skin cells are removed and the henna dye can do its job better. Therefore, it’s beneficial for customers’ to fully exfoliate the skin around their eyebrows before treatment. Additionally, as with our other beauty treatments, we require an eye patch test to be undertaken 24-48 hours prior to henna treatment, otherwise we cannot proceed with the henna.

What Are The Benefits?

Henna powder and demineralised water are mixed together to create a thick paste, which is then threaded through the shape of the eyebrow and allowed to soak gently into the skin for up to 20 minutes. The main benefits of a henna treatment, include:

  • Henna eyebrow treatments typically last up to four weeks, however our products are advanced and the eyebrow tinting will last up to seven weeks

  • We’ve seven colour schemes available and will help you find the ideal tone, or combination of shades to complement your skin and hair colouring, whether strong or subtle

  • If you’ve a dryer complexion, henna brows tend to last a bit longer than they would on someone with an oily complexion or those with skin conditions such as eczema

  • The tinting process is stronger than regular tinting application as the henna dye grips the skin and fills up ‘balding’ or stubborn areas free from hairs, encouraging the regrowth of hairs

  • Gives your eyebrows better definition with more strength in the arch and tail for an ombré effect

  • Regular application of supplementary products such as conditioners and oils will help brows last longer as the henna disappears as dead skin cells are removed.

For a visually attractive result, henna brows can be worked in with a brow pencil or eyebrow powder. Once the tint is absorbed the remaining residue is gently removed with a wet cotton pad. After that you can start styling the eyebrows, such as tweezing, trimming and waxing for maximum effect. Once it’s applied to the eyebrows, plastic protection is put on top to help it set undisturbed.

FAQs

+ How long do henna brows take to fade?

Henna not only dyes the hairs but will leave a stain (for up to 2 weeks) on the skin behind the brow, giving the brow a fuller and filled in look for that period.

+ What is the difference between nail polish and gel polish?

  • What should I be aware of immediately after having henna treatment?
  • Don’t wet the eyebrows for the first 12 hours after treatment
  • Use as little cleaning products as possible, particularly in the first 24 hours after you’ve had your eyebrows done
  • Avoid using any harsh soaps around the tinted area as this will cause the henna to fade much quicker
  • Don’t apply too many creams to the eyebrows and avoid rubbing them
  • Avoid sun bathing and using suntanning beds for at least 24 hours. Not only does henna colour fade faster, sun rays can also trigger an allergy!

+ Can I lighten my henna eyebrows?

It’s recommended using a silicone-based makeup remover, together with toner and a cotton pad to dilute the colour on your brows. You can also wash your brows with a cloth and a little shampoo to remove henna dye.

+ Can my brows be waxed after the Henna mixture is applied?

Yes, this is also included in the treatment costing leaving lovely smooth lines.
